List the assessment methods to be used and the context and resources required for assessment. Copy and paste the relevant sections from the evidence guide below and then re-write these in plain English.
ELEMENT | PERFORMANCE CRITERIA |
Elements describe the essential outcomes. | Performance criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate achievement of the element. |
1. Research potential sites | 1.1 Determine potential sites based on the key ideas of the artwork 1.2 Agree on required types of site information in consultation with relevant people 1.3 Access relevant sources of information for potential sites 1.4 Collect and organise relevant research findings about potential sites |
2. Select appropriate site | 2.1 Determine criteria for selecting site based on the needs of the artwork and confirm them with relevant people 2.2 Use agreed criteria to evaluate research findings on potential sites 2.3 Select the most appropriate site based on criteria |
3. Determine work options for selected site | 3.1 Analyse the impact of site characteristics on work options 3.2 Develop work options that respond to site characteristics 3.3 Select work options that best respond to site characteristics and conceptual vision for creative work |
4. Plan work for selected site | 4.1 Confirm selected site and work options with relevant colleagues 4.2 Develop procedures and work plans for installing the work on site within required timeframe 4.3 Document work procedures in an appropriate format |
Evidence of the ability to:
select sites for artwork or installation that are responsive to key ideas in the work
research location, dimensions, characteristics, constraints and requirements of each potential site within required timeframe
establish criteria that appropriately address and respond to the site requirements, and use them to select most appropriate site
develop plans for installing the work that reflect best response to creative ideas and site characteristics and requirements
document procedures and work plans for installing the work on site using varied formats and according to required procedures.
Note: If a specific volume or frequency is not stated, then evidence must be provided at least once.
To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:
describe potential of sites for different types of work relevant to area of specialisation
describe types and potential sources of site information needed for planning work
identify the site characteristics considered when evaluating and selecting a site, and describe the process used to determine their impact
discuss perspectives and requirements of key others involved in or affected by the work
explain in detail the criteria used in site selection and work plan, including consistency with conceptual vision, regulatory requirements, approval requirements and processes
detail the technology and procedures used to access and store information sourced and to document the selection and planning process
outline work health and safety requirements associated with different types of sites.
Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to:
sites typically used for artworks
sources of information about sites.
Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.
