This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to install and maintain low voltage (LV) underground services in the electricity supply industry (ESI).
It includes the installation and connection of LV underground service cables and associated equipment, the repair and replacement of service cables, services fuses and service hardware and identifying and rectifying faults. It also includes insulation, voltage, polarity and phase rotation testing.
The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practice in the workplace.
