Elements and Performance Criteria
- Prepare materials, tools and equipment for landscaping work
- Identify the required materials, tools and equipment according to lists provided or supervisor's instructions
- Conduct checks on materials, tools and equipment with insufficient or faulty items reported to the supervisor
- demonstrate correct manual handling techniques when loading and unloading materials
- Select and check suitable personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Provide landscaping support according to workplace health and safety requirements and workplace information
- Identify and report workplace hazards to the supervisor
- Undertake landscape work as directed
- Follow instructions and directions provided by supervisor and seek clarification when necessary
- Undertake landscape work in a safe and environmentally appropriate manner
- Carry out interactions with other staff and customers in a positive manner
- Follow enterprise policy and procedures in relation to workplace practices, handling and disposal of materials
- Report problems or difficulties in completing work to required standards or timelines to supervisor
- Handle materials and equipment
- Store waste material and debris produced during landscape work in a designated area according to supervisor's instructions
- Handle and transport materials, equipment and machinery according to supervisor's instructions and enterprise guidelines
- Maintain a clean and safe work site while undertaking landscaping activities
- Clean up on completion of landscaping work
