- Identify current environmental regulations and associated procedures applying to the workplace
- Identify environmental sustainability policy and procedures applicable to the workplace
- Identify resource usage in the workplace using purchasing and other relevant data
- Access information on impact of resource usage on environmental sustainability
- Conduct a safety hazard analysis and risk assessment
- Contribute to the review of workplace environmental sustainability practices
- Collect information on environmental sustainability and resource efficiency systems relevant to the workplace
- Review current practices and identify potential areas for improvement
- Seek suggestions and ideas from stakeholders to improve the management of the environment and resource efficiency
- Contribute to development of tools or resources to help make improvements in the workplace, using collected information
- Communicate proposed improvements to management

- Record and report on work practices
- Use monitoring and evaluation tools and technology where available
- Record incidents where sustainability policy and procedures have been breached
- Record and report on progress against resource efficiency and environmental targets
- Provide feedback to management on environmental sustainability review and improvement process
