- Prepare for operations
- Nature and scope of the work requirements are identified and confirmed
- OH&S requirements, including any individual State/Territory regulatory requirements and personal protection needs are observed throughout the work
- Procedures and information such as workshop manuals, specifications and tooling are sourced
- Method options are analysed and those most appropriate to the circumstances are selected and prepared
- Technical and/or calibration requirements for machining are sourced and support equipment is identified and prepared
- Set machine
- Information is accessed and interpreted from manufacturer/component supplier specifications
- Components are measured and repair action determined
- Machine is set in accordance with defined procedures
- Machines are set without causing damage to any component or system
- Component is positioned and clamped
- Machine is adjusted to meet operational requirements and specifications using appropriate measuring equipment
- Tooling and accessories are selected
- Worn or damaged tooling is identified and changed or sharpened
- Setting activities are carried out according to industry regulations/guidelines, OH&S legislation and enterprise procedures/policies
- Operate and monitor machine
- Information is accessed and interpreted from manufacturer/component supplier specifications
- Machine is operated and monitored without causing damage to any component or system
- Machine is operated in accordance with enterprise procedures
- Components are checked with instruments to ensure compliance to specifications
- Sharpness of tooling is monitored and tooling is sharpened or replaced to meet requirements
- Finished product is checked for alignment, tolerance and finish
- Machining operations are carried out according to industry regulations/guidelines, OH&S legislation and enterprise procedures/policies
- Prepare component for delivery to customer/storage
