- Identify painting requirements
- Applicable OHS, legislative and organisational requirements relevant to lead light and stained glass operations are verified and complied with
- Types and quantities of patterns, designs and materials required are identified from plans or work instructions
- The process for painting patterns and designs onto glass is identified
- Prepare to paint glass
- Painting sequence is determined in a logical order to suit the job
- Tools, equipment and materials are selected and checked prior to use to ensure that they are appropriate for the painting, serviceable and in a safe condition
- Patterns and design templates are checked against specifications or job order
- Paint colours are matched against the plan or work order
- Glass is prepared for painting
- Apply vitreous paint
- Finalise the installation
- Painted glass is inspected for quality of work and repaired or discarded as required
- Waste and scrap material is removed for disposal/recycling as required
- Work area is cleaned and rubbish disposed of as appropriate
- Tools, equipment and unused materials are cleaned and removed and stored appropriately
- Workplace records are maintained
