Elements and Performance Criteria
- Identify work requirements
- Work instructions are obtained and followed
- Work health and safety (WHS) requirements for application of patterns and designs to glass surfaces, including personal protective equipment, are observed throughout the work
- Tools and equipment suitable to the work method are assembled and the process for applying patterns and designs to glass surfaces identified
- Prepare for work
- Work sequence is planned in a logical order to suit the job and workplace procedures
- Tools, equipment and materials are selected and checked prior to use to ensure they are appropriate for the work, serviceable and in a safe condition
- Pattern or design template, if required, is produced from plan or design or drafted from existing design or pattern
- Procedures are identified for checking the quality of materials and items produced and quality requirements for each stage of the application process
- Apply pattern or design to glass surface
- Pattern or design template is applied or glass surface is masked, as necessary, with appropriate materials
- Pattern or design is applied to glass surface in accordance with workplace procedures or industry practice
- Problems occurring during operation are identified and reported to appropriate personnel in accordance with workplace procedures, and any authorised changes in working procedures followed
- Complete work
- Product is inspected for quality of work and repaired or discarded, as required, in accordance with workplace procedures
- Waste and scrap material are removed for disposal or recycling, as required
- Work area is cleaned and rubbish disposed of, as appropriate
- Tools and equipment are cleaned and stored following workplace procedures
- Workplace documentation is completed, as required
