Elements and Performance Criteria
- Determine theoretical performance
- Identify item of plant and plant components to be analysed
- Locate and interpret design specification
- Identify process materials being processed/to be processed during verification trial
- Determine process material properties under process conditions
- Calculate theoretical performance of components with that material under those conditions
- Conduct trial
- Design verification trial to be compatible with theoretical analysis
- Check trial design to ensure occupational health and safety (OHS) issues are identified and addressed
- Determine measurements needed from trial to yield required data
- Select equipment suitable to give required measurements
- Consult with relevant stakeholders
- Arrange for verification trial with relevant process personnel
- Set up required measurement equipment
- Supervise trial and ensure trial conditions are appropriate
- Collect trial data for analysis
- Verify performance of components
- Recommend required action
- Determine appropriate action to bring performance to desired level
- Check that recommended action addresses any OHS issues
- Consult with relevant stakeholders
- Initiate the corrective action in accordance with company procedures
- Determine measures to increase equipment productivity
- Recheck performance after corrective action is implemented
