Performance Evidence
Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:
locates and applies relevant documentation, policies and proceduresimplements the requirements, procedures and techniques for the safe, effective and efficient performance of intermediate rigging operations including:conducting risk assessment and implementing controlscorrectly applying and using all rigging and associated equipmentmaintaining written rigging recordsworks effectively with others to undertake and complete the performance of intermediate rigging operations that meet all of the required outcomes including:checks and verifies work activity with client, load designer and otherscommunicating hazards and determining elimination or control of hazardsusing a range of communication techniques and systems to convey instruction or information to othersprovides end of work handover to relevant personnel demonstrates completion of performing intermediate rigging operations that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:writing a preliminary rigging plan which must include the following points in detail:confirmed details of rigging requirement confirmed dimensions site access and egress suitability and availability of materials tools and equipment identification of potential hazards control measures identification of site coordination requirements unless otherwise specified, rigging is to conform with the requirements of any relevant National Certification and/or Standardsperforming mathematical calculations for estimation and measurement of loadsidentifying, selecting, inspecting, assembling and confirming as serviceable all of the following: rigging equipmentmaterials toolsinstalling fall arrest equipment with ground level installationusing rope to attach tag lines using knots, bend and hitches using ropes for splices and whipping techniques safely moving and correctly relocating the loadperforming work safely at heightsdismantle and remove/restore load shifting equipmentclear the work area, check equipment and complete all documentation and reporting requirements
