Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare for working in the drilling Industry
- Access, interpret and apply relevant drilling documentation and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Obtain, read, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements
- Identify and address potential risks, hazards and environmental issues, and implement control measures
- Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
- Communicate and coordinate activities with others throughout the work activity
- Perform safe manual handling
- Routinely practice good housekeeping
- Complete pre-start checks
- Walk around plant/equipment/vehicle checking all items are serviceable and in good condition
- Check and top up fluids as required
- Check all guards and safety devices are in place and serviceable
- Ensure all personnel are clear or in a safe position before starting
- Complete required written records and reporting
- Refuel vehicles and plant
- Drive vehicle
- Check vehicle roadworthiness, load distribution and security before starting
- Identify potential vehicle hazards from road trip/load and implement hazard minimisation procedures
- Plan trip to maximise safety and minimise cost
- Drive vehicle in compliance with local conditions and road/site rules
- Correctly park and secure vehicle
- Correctly change wheel as required
