Elements and Performance Criteria
- Plan and prepare to operate from an elevated work platform underground
- Access, interpret and apply documentation and procedures for operating from an elevated work platform underground and ensure the work activity is compliant
- Receive, interpret and clarify shift changeover details
- Select and wear personal protective equipment appropriate for work activities
- Inspect and assess site conditions to determine if scaling is required and take action
- Select appropriate equipment for job type and specifications
- Carry out equipment pre-start checks
- Identify, address and report potential risks and hazards
- Carry out start-up procedures
- Communicate with other equipment operators and personnel using approved communication methods
- Identify, address and report environmental issues
- Adhere to emergency procedures
- Ensure area is well ventilated before entry into worksite
- Use approved dust suppression and extraction methods
- Position and set up platform
- Conduct work activities from elevated platform
- Use approved safety devices and ensure safety of personnel and surrounding site
- Monitor and manage equipment performance using appropriate indicators
- Operate equipment safely within work environment, road conditions and limitations
- Complete all required documentation clearly, concisely and on time
- Pass on end of shift information verbally or in writing to oncoming shift
- Carry out operator maintenance
- Conduct housekeeping activities
