- Prepare to cremate.
- Determine work requirements including client requests, time and location of cremation, transport and staffing needs.
- Identify and use personal protective equipment.
- Conduct pre-operational checks to identify defects or damage.
- Report defects or damage to manager.
- Start up and stabilise cremator according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Prepare to operate cremator.
- Operate cremator.
- Select cremation cycle and run according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain cremator at optimum operating condition according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Identify critical equipment and processes and monitor cremator performance.
- Tune cremator according to manufacturer guidelines or report faults to appropriate personnel.
- Complete cremations.
- Inspect deceased person’s remains at conclusion of cremation cycle and take corrective action.
- Clean primary hearth after deceased person’s remains are fully cremated.
- Place cremated remains in cooling tray.
- Store cleaning equipment after use.
- Process, package, label and shelve cremated remains.
- Record and document shelving details.
- Shut down cremator.
