Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Prepare to solve electrical problems on network systems in a remote community
   • Work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) workplace procedures for work are obtained and confirmed
2. Hazards are identified, WHS/OHS risks assessed and control measures identified in accordance with workplace procedures
3. Circuit problems are obtained from documentation or relevant personnel to determine scope of work
4. Advice is sought from relevant personnel to ensure work is coordinated effectively with others
5. Materials required for work are identified and obtained in accordance with workplace procedures
6. Plant, equipment, tools, testing devices and personal protective equipment (PPE) required for work is identified, obtained and confirmed in working order
7. Solve electrical problems on network systems in a remote community
   • WHS/OHS, sustainable energy and environmental principles and practices are monitored and followed to reduce incidents in accordance with workplace procedures
8. Need to test or measure live electrical components is determined in accordance with workplace procedures
9. Circuits are checked and isolated in accordance with job requirements and workplace procedures
10. Electrical system problems are solved from measured and calculated values
11. Unplanned events in solving electrical problems in remote community network systems are responded to in accordance with workplace procedures
12. Problems are solved without damage to apparatus, circuits and systems, the surrounding environment and/or services in accordance with sustainable energy practices and workplace procedures
13. Complete work and document problem-solving activities
    • WHS/OHS and environmental incidents are reported in accordance with workplace procedures, as required
14. Worksite is cleaned and made safe in accordance with workplace procedures
15. Justification for solutions used to solve circuit problems is documented in accordance with workplace procedures
16. Work records, reports and/or documentation are completed in accordance with workplace procedures
