Elements and Performance Criteria

  1. Prepare to install and maintain LV overhead services in remote communities
  2. Job requirements and workplace procedures are identified and communicated with relevant personnel
  3. Work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS), environmental and workplace procedures for the installation and maintenance of LV overhead services and associated equipment are obtained and confirmed for the purposes of the work to be performed
  4. Work is prioritised and sequenced for completion within acceptable timeframes following consultation with relevant personnel and in accordance with workplace procedures
  5. Hazards are identified, WHS/OHS risks assessed and control measures identified and implemented in accordance with workplace procedures
  6. Relevant work permits are obtained and signed in accordance with workplace procedures
  7. Plant, equipment, tools and personal protective equipment (PPE) required for work is identified, obtained and confirmed in working order
  8. Worksite is prepared to minimise risk, damage to property, commerce and individuals in accordance with workplace procedures
  9. Traffic management plan is confirmed as being applied in accordance with workplace procedures
  10. Carry out installation and maintenance of LV overhead services in remote communities
  11. WHS/OHS, sustainable energy and environmental principles and practices are applied in accordance with workplace procedures
  12. Requirements for lifting and/or climbing and/or working at heights and the use of power tools/equipment are followed in accordance with workplace procedures
  13. Remote community electrical network equipment is isolated, proved de-energised and earthing equipment installed, as required, in accordance with workplace procedures
  14. LV field switching is performed in accordance with a given schedule and workplace procedures
  15. Installation and maintenance of LV overhead services, including mains, are completed in accordance with job requirements, work permits and workplace procedures
  16. Unplanned events are responded to in accordance with workplace procedures
  17. Earthing equipment is removed and remote community overhead network equipment is re-energised and returned to service in accordance with workplace procedures
  18. LV overhead services are tested in accordance with job requirements and workplace procedures
  19. Quality checks of work are undertaken in accordance with workplace procedures
  20. Complete installation and maintenance of LV overhead services in remote communities
  21. WHS/OHS and environmental incidents/accidents and injuries are reported in accordance with workplace procedures, as required
  22. Worksite is rehabilitated, cleaned up and made safe in accordance with workplace procedures
  23. Tools, equipment and surplus resources are, where appropriate, are cleaned, checked and returned to storage in accordance with workplace procedures
  24. Relevant work permits are relinquished and signed off in accordance with workplace procedures
  25. Work records, reports and documentation are completed and relevant personnel notified in accordance with workplace procedures
