Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to contribute to the development, implementation, evaluation and communication of a care plan for individuals with life-threatening or life-limiting illness and/or normal ageing process in a team environment using a palliative approach.This unit applies to workers in a residential or community context. Work performed requires some discretion and judgement and is carried out under regular direct or indirect supervision.The skills in this unit must be applied in accordance with Commonwealth and State/Territory legislation, Australian/New Zealand standards and industry codes of practice. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. Skills must be demonstrated in the workplace or in a simulated environment that reflects workplace conditions. The following conditions must be met for this unit: modelling typical workplace conditions, including: typical workplace documentation and reporting processes scenarios and simulations in provision of care using a palliative approach in a range of contexts palliative care plans and equipment and/or resources outlined in plan Assessors must satisfy the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015/AQTF mandatory competency requirements for assessors. |
