Element: Interpret information and obtain dimensions
  • Review existing measurements and use scaling techniques to obtain dimensions needed for production
  • Accurately calculate and record surface areas and angles
  • Identify and determine geometric shapes, establish positions of clear panels and record information
       
Element: Identify components, products and services
  • Develop concept drawing of completed product or service based on information provided
  • Determine required accessories, attachments and other components from information provided
  • Determine anchor points, and types and sizes of openings
  • Identify potential difficulties or hazards associated with product manufacture or installation
  • Identify environmental and regulatory features which may affect the product or service to be provided
       
Element: Define detailed customer requirements in graphic form
  • Accurately transfer dimensions and angles on to the sketch or diagram
  • Incorporate clear and accurate details of all required product features
  • Calculate and incorporate dimensional allowances for cutting, rolled edges, joins and reinforcements
  • Make provision for seams, joins and overlaps and confirm accuracy of all dimensions and angles
  • Incorporate or create supporting information about specific environmental, regulatory or operational requirements
  • Review and confirm accuracy and completeness of all graphic information prepared and prepare final information
  • Communicate information to client or work colleagues responsible for further action based on job requirements

Assessment Tasks
