Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to use and maintain minor mechanical equipment in accordance with workplace procedures, safe working codes of practice and regulatory requirements across a variety of operational workplaces within the transport and logistics industry. It includes carrying out pre-operational checks on equipment, operating mechanical equipment, conducting routine maintenance, and securing and storing equipment. Minor mechanical equipment may encompass hand and power tools.Work is performed under some supervision, generally in a team environment. Where required to operate mechanical plant or equipment, the operator must hold the relevant licence, permit or certificate for the class/type of equipment being operated.No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication. | |||
