Description | |||
Employability Skills | |||
Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit covers the design of basic primary and secondary plant within a customer substation. Such designs will usually include relay-operated high voltage (HV) switchgear, distribution transformers, low voltage (LV) switchgear, including customer distribution boards. The design may include minor civil engineering aspects and must conform to relevant Australian Standards, safety regulations, environmental standards and customer requirements taking into account costs as an important criterion.The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practice in the workplace subject to regulations for undertaking of electrical work. Other conditions may apply under state and territory legislative and regulatory licencing requirements which must be confirmed prior to commencing this unit. | ||
Duration and Setting | X weeks, nominally xx hours, delivered in a classroom/online/blended learning setting. |
