Learning Outcomes and Application | This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to install and maintain substation direct current (d.c.) systems in the electricity supply industry (ESI).It includes installing and maintaining substation d.c. systems, such as main batteries, communication batteries, d.c lighting systems, battery chargers, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems and associated control circuits in accordance with workplace procedures. It also includes diagnosing faults, replacing faulty equipment, conducting pre-commissioning/recommissioning tests and interpreting test results against agreed specifications.The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practice in the workplace.Other conditions may apply under state and territory legislative and regulatory licensing requirements which must be confirmed prior to commencing this unit. | ||
