Application
This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to apply sustainability principles, legislation and information on government and non-government programs when planning and delivering home sustainability services.
The unit supports the work of home sustainability assessors applying information relating to sustainability when providing home sustainability services.
No licensing, legislative, regulatory, or certification requirements apply to this unit of competency at the time of endorsement.

Evidence of Performance
A person demonstrating competency in this unit must satisfy the requirements of the elements, performance criteria, foundation skills and range of conditions of this unit.
The person must also apply information on sustainability principles, legislation and government and non-government programs in planning and providing home sustainability services to three different clients.
In doing the above, the person must:
determine relationship between sustainability, greenhouse gas emissions, and home sustainability assessment
apply the following legislation, regulations and codes of practice in conducting the home sustainability assessment:

work health and safety (WHS).

Assessment Conditions
The following must be present and available to learners during assessment activities:
equipment:
computer system with internet access and printer to research on information relating to sustainability, greenhouse emissions, and home sustainability assessments
materials:
legislation, regulations and codes of practice relating to the home sustainability assessments specified in the performance evidence
workplace policies and procedures relating to home sustainability assessments
householders participating in a home sustainability assessment
relationships with team members and supervisor:
assessment activities are performed on an individual basis under general supervision.
Assessor requirements
As a minimum, assessors must satisfy the assessor requirements in the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) current at the time of assessment.
