Application
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to develop and apply basic creative arts industry knowledge to industry practices, including industry structures and operations, employment obligations and opportunities, the impact of new technology, and identification of industry laws and regulations.
It applies to individuals who perform a range of mainly routine tasks under direct supervision and are required to apply basic creative arts industry knowledge.
No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Evidence of Knowledge
To complete the unit requirements safely and effectively, the individual must:
outline appropriate sources of creative arts industry information
outline distinguishing features of the creative arts industry and identify the different sectors
identify laws that relate to working in the creative arts industry
list relevant industry bodies and associations and briefly outline their roles
outline how current trends and technology are shaping and changing the creative arts industry.
Assessment Conditions
Assessment must be conducted in a safe environment where evidence gathered demonstrates consistent performance of typical activities experienced in creative arts industry environments. The assessment environment must include access to:
relevant and current industry information
appropriate media to collect and store industry information
interaction with others.
Assessors of this unit must satisfy the requirements for assessors in applicable vocational educational and training legislation, frameworks and/or standards.
