Carry out routine work activities in an electricity supply industry generation environment


Application

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to undertake scheduled routine work activities in the electricity supply industry generation sector.

Routine work can include undertaking functions encompassing activities such as the operation of non-critical generation plant systems, lubricating plant and performing minor maintenance on both electrical and mechanical equipment. Tasks may also involve cleaning, warehousing, stock duties and the operation of load shifting equipment.

Competency in this unit requires the ability carry out routine work activities in an electrical supply generation environment. Individuals will work, under supervision, as an operator in a power generation facility.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to unit at the time of publication.

Note: Workplace practice

The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence or training permit to practice in the workplace where work is carried out on gas and electrical installations. Additional conditions may apply under state and territory legislative and regulatory licensing requirements.
