1. Prepare for slewing crane operations

1.1 Access, interpret and apply crane operation documentation and procedures to ensure work activity is compliant

1.2 Obtain, interpret, clarify and confirm work requirements

1.3 Identify hazards and environmental issues, assess the risks and implement control measures in line with workplace policies

1.4 Select and wear personal protective equipment required for work activities

1.5 Access, interpret and apply safety information and procedures throughout the work activity

1.6 Prepare slewing crane activity in accordance with AS2550, relevant legislation, safety requirements and manufacturer/site requirements

1.7 Carry out assembly and dismantling of boom/jib as per work requirements and workplace procedures

1.8 Coordinate and communicate planned activities with others prior to commencement work activity

2. Operate slewing crane within operating capacities of equipment to complete work activity

2.1 Carry out equipment start-up checks in line with workplace procedures

2.7 Monitor and manage equipment performance using indicators and alarms

2.8 Monitor hazards and risks during operations, and ensure safety of self, other personnel, plant and equipment

2.9 Park up, shut down, secure and carry out post operational inspection of equipment in line with workplace procedures

3. Travel the crane

3.1 Plan a firm and level route for the crane travel according to workplace procedures

3.2 Monitor and manage hazards along the route

3.3 Travel the crane in line with work requirements and workplace procedures

4. Perform multiple crane lifts

4.1 Obtain approval to carry out a multiple crane lift from the appropriate statutory authority prior to planning activity

4.2 Plan multiple crane lift and obtain internal approvals for lifting plan as per workplace procedures

4.3 Perform multiple crane lift according to authorised plan under the supervision of an authorised person, in line with workplace procedures

5. Conduct housekeeping activities

5.1 Clear work area and dispose of environmentally sensitive materials according to workplace procedures

5.2 Manage and/or report hazards to maintain a safe working environment

5.3 Complete and file documentation, and distribute according to workplace requirements
