Version 1.0
Issue Date: May 2024

This unit involves the skills and knowledge required to monitor safety compliance of vegetation control work in an electrical supply industry (ESI) environment.

It includes observing, spotting, rendering warnings to stop unsafe work activities, and/or encroachment of ordinary persons, public, personnel and mobile plant and equipment into the safe approach distance (SAD) as defined for persons and mobile plant and equipment. All work and zones are undertaken in compliance with relevant state or territory regulatory agencies/bodies, local government legislation, industry bi-partite body guidelines/codes of practice or other related requirements for safe work and access near live electrical and mechanical apparatus.

The application of the skills and knowledge described in this unit may require a licence/registration to practice in the workplace.

Other conditions may apply under state and territory legislative and regulatory licensing requirements which must be confirmed prior to commencing this unit.

You may want to include more information here about the target group and the purpose of the assessments (eg formative, summative, recognition)

Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.

Range is restricted to essential operating conditions and any other variables essential to the work environment.
