Application
The unit applies to the planning and creation of textile design folio's using CAD programs and equipment to develop and manipulate folio content. Creative and technical skills are applied to the development through to the completion of the folio. Folio requirements are determined in consultation with the client and through analysis of design specifications. The design may be of one's own determination or provided by a client or other source. Work may be conducted in small to large scale enterprises and may involve individual and team-related activities. The application of this unit is according to OHS practices of the enterprise and workplace practices which may include: requirements prescribed by legislation, awards agreements and conditions of employment standard operating procedures work instructions oral, written and visual communication quality practices including responsibility for maintenance of own work quality and contribution to quality improvement of team or section output housekeeping tasks related to environmental protection, waste disposal, pollution control, and recycling This unit requires the application of skills associated with communication to consult with clients, review and interpret design specifications, determine folio objectives and parameters and document information. Initiative and enterprise, planning and organising and problem solving skills will also be used to determine folio specifications, select programs and equipment, plan layouts, and to apply creative processes to folio development. Knowledge and application of computing technology is central to the planning and production of the folio. |
