Monitor compliance in digital supply chains


Application

This unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to manage compliance in digital supply chains. It includes identifying digital supply chain compliance requirements, maintaining digital supply chain compliance information, monitoring digital supply chain compliance and reviewing and reporting on digital supply chain compliance.

Compliance refers to the adherence of established guidelines and all legal requirements including those in relation to sourcing, manufacturing and delivering products in a digital supply chain. Tracking and complying with local, national and international product and supply chain laws and industry standards is critical to the maintenance of confidence in digital supply chains.

The unit is applicable to those with management or team leadership responsibilities within a digital supply chain.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.

Monitor compliance

3.1

Compliance gaps in the digital supply chain are monitored, using approved methods and tools, to mitigate risks and identify areas of improvement

Quality system reports are monitored and non-compliance issues are tracked, in accordance with compliance procedures

3.3

Cyber security and data storage risks are monitored, in accordance with compliance procedures, to ensure digital supply chain integrity

Legislative and regulatory compliance is monitored throughout the digital supply chain, in accordance with compliance procedures

Non-compliance actions and breaches, including whistle blower reports, are documented and corrective actions are monitored, in accordance with compliance procedures

Review and report on compliance

4.1

Compliance strategy and KPIs are reviewed, in consultation with digital supply chain stakeholders, to identify improvements

4.2

Digital supply chain compliance report, including recommendations, is prepared and presented to approved stakeholders

Continuous improvement actions to support digital supply chain compliance are documented

Evidence of Performance

Evidence required to demonstrate competence in this unit must be relevant to and satisfy all the requirements of the elements and performance criteria on at least one occasion and includes

collecting, maintaining and monitoring compliance data

communicating compliance information and updates

confirming digital supply chain compliance strategy and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

determining compliance risks

identifying and documenting legislation, codes of practice and industry standards

implementing digital supply chain compliance policies, procedures and processes

maintaining supplier certificates, disclosure statements and other supporting documentation

monitoring digital supply chain compliance gaps

monitoring quality system reports, cyber security and data storage risks

recording non-compliance actions and breaches including whistle blower reports

reviewing and reporting on digital supply chain compliance system

undertaking remedial actions to ensure compliance

using approved digital supply chain compliance systems and tools

validating supplier's financial viability, contract compliance and third party affiliations

verifying compliance responsibility and level of authority

working with digital supply chain stakeholders.

Assessment Conditions

Assessors must hold credentials specified within the Standards for Registered Training Organisations current at the time of assessment.

Assessment must satisfy the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence and all regulatory requirements included within the Standards for Registered Training Organisations current at the time of assessment.

Assessment must occur in workplace operational situations, where it is appropriate to do so. Where this is not appropriate, assessment must occur in simulated workplace operational situations that replicate workplace conditions.

Assessment processes and techniques must be appropriate to the language, literacy and numeracy requirements of the work being performed and the needs of the candidate.

Resources for assessment must include access to a range of

exercises, case studies and/or other simulations

materials, tools and equipment used in industry

documentation including organisational policies and procedures, industry standards, regulations, codes of practice, operational manuals and equipment specifications.

Foundation skills essential to performance are explicit in the performance criteria of this unit of competency.
